Loan Officer

Are you self-motivated, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines? We’re seeking a detail-oriented candidate with excellent organizational skills and a talent for multi-tasking to join our Freedom Bank family as a full-time Loan Officer at our Huntingburg location. As a Loan Officer, you’ll be responsible for performing lending duties for Consumer, Real Estate and Commercial Loans.

Our new Loan Officer will join a highly motivated team dedicated to providing superior customer service and making a positive impact in Huntingburg and surrounding communities.  

What to Expect:

 The Day-to-Day

• Perform lending duties to bank customers for the following types of loans: Consumer, Real Estate and Commercial loans
• Complete loan applications
• Provide financial counseling
• Underwrite credit applicants
• Make sound and justifiable credit decisions
• Prepare counter offers and loan denials
• Prepare proper documents for loan closing
• Close and fund loans
• Follow-up procedures such as lien perfections, collateral inspections
• Manage delinquent loans
• Development of strategic relationships with realtors, title companies, insurance agents, attorneys, and accountants for referrals.
• Diligently ask customers for additional prospective customer contact information and referral sources.
• Continually strive to create profitable business through proactive cross selling of other products and services offered by Freedom Bank and relationship enhancement.
• Represent the Bank within the community by developing and promoting additional business.
• Adhere to security and state and federal regulatory compliance responsibilities to protect the Bank.

Must Haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or other related fields; or a High School diploma and 2+ years of lending or related experience.
• Strong decision-making abilities
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents
• Highly motivated with strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of ARTA & Mortgagebot software would be beneficial

Physical Requirements:

• Sitting –Standing-Walking: Approximately 75% or more of time is spent sitting at a desk. Balance of time is spent moving around outside of work area and does include some driving. Ability to traverse one or more flights of stairs may be required.
• Speaking-Hearing: Clear dictation and acute hearing are necessary for effective and frequent (up to 90% of work time) communication with co-workers, customers, and outside agencies, by telephone and in person.
• Vision: Ability to effectively use a computer screen and interpret printed materials, memos and other appropriate paperwork, 90% or more of work time.
• Lifting-Carrying: The ability to transport files, office supplies, and lifting to a weight of 35 lbs. and occasionally, up to 50 lbs.
